Love the Details of Your Problems (Part 3) — The Transcript

Tom’s University. Love the details of your life. Love the details of your problems. Love the details of your life. Love the details of your problems.

Okay, so love the details of your life that’s pretty self explanatory, right?   Love the whole of you, all the parts of you, all the parts of your life, all the parts of your body, your physical reality, your mental reality, your emotional reality.   Love all of you, the details.  Love the whole of you and love the details. And just for some people who get triggered for that “love” word, “love” means “accept.”   Accept the whole of you. Accept the details of you. Accept the reality of you. Accept the details of the reality of you, inside and outside you, that’s what it means to love the details of your life.  And it also means to accept the reality that every moment you are alive, every moment you are alive, which means every moment your life is changing.   So “accepting the details of your life” is you got to stay on it, you got to stay with the moment to love the details of your life, because the details of your life change moment to moment. That’s part of what that means. And that’s the challenge for me. I get the concept, but to do it consistently every moment, “love the details of me”, of my life. Wow! I get just saying that, that’s what I want, and that’s what Tom’s University is all about. That’s what I want for me and that’s what I want for you. It’s your birth right. And for whatever reasons (we don’t need to go into them), for whatever reasons we did not learn, well, some of us anyway, some of us didn’t learn the skill of loving ourselves, accepting ourselves, paying attention to ourselves, taking care of ourselves, consistently through the day, caring for the life energy inside of you.

So, this is skill building, this is a skill to learn the skill of loving the details of your life. It’s a skill, you can learn it! You can learn it! You got to practice, depending upon the mental patterns that you developed, the consciousness patterns you developed, the intentional patterns you developed, it will be harder or easier.  And no matter what (if you’re not severely brain damaged), you can learn. And probably even if you are brain damaged. There is a lot of research about the plasticity of the brain. Yeah, you can learn more skill at loving yourself, accepting yourself, paying attention to yourself, paying attention to yourself every moment, being aware of yourself every moment. That’s an aspect of loving the details of your life, of yourself. These are skills, these are attentional skills.  It’s a consciousness skill to learn the details of your life. You can learn it!

And the other part of the class is love the details of your problems. So you’re alive, your life is in movement.  In every moment, there is a new configuration to your life, the details change, the situation changes, and it’s your job to take care of your life. Okay, right, right? You’re grown up, right? Or if you’re soon to be grown up, it’s your job to take care of your life. So new moment, new moment alert! New moment alert! Every second there’s a new moment alert, which means a new choice on your plate. There’s a problem, problem is not bad. Our culture’s given “problem” a bad word. No!  Every moment is a problem, that’s what it means. So, love the details of your problems. Love the details of your choices on your plate. Every moment you’re faced with a new choice. That’s “the problem” I’m talking about when I say “love the details of your problems.”   Yeah, what are you going to do now? What are you going to do now? Well, love the moment, loving the details of yourself includes loving the details of what’s on your plate right now. Well what’s on your plate, and what to do about what’s on your plate is a problem, is the choice point. Love the details of your life. Love the details of your problems.

That’s the class today. And it’s skill; it’s a consciousness skill. And it’s every moment, it’s every moment yes, and it’s your job to learn it, well if you want to learn it. What I hope for Tom’s University is that I can help inspire you, motivate you to want to learn it. You got to do the work of learning.  No one can do your learning for you. And I highly highly (this is a testimonial, yeah), the more I love the details of my life, the more consistently throughout the day I love the details of my life, and love the details of my problems, the more smoothly, the more happy, the more fun, the more rich my life becomes. Is that a good enough testimonial?  Anyway do it, learn it, want it. Yeah, you can learn it it’s, you’ll love your life way more if you love the details of your life and you’ll learn to love the details of your problems every moment. Yeah, your life’s gonna be way awesome! Okay that’s the class.
